A treatment plant can involve thin process water, settling sludge and concentrated treatment chemicals within the same site. Describe each duty separately: a configuration suitable for a chemical feed line may not have the solids passage or wear characteristics needed for sludge transfer.

What to check
Record the largest particles, approximate solids concentration and any abrasive grit or fibrous material. Check suction lift, hose length and the discharge-pressure range. For chemical dosing, define the required accuracy and control method rather than treating a transfer-pump flow rating as dosing performance.
