Paints, inks & coatings
Keep material moving through mixing, circulation and filling.
Pigment loading, viscosity and frequent color changes can make a coating-transfer duty very different from clean-water service. Define whether the pump will simply transfer a batch, circulate material or supply another piece of process equipment; each duty places different demands on the system.
Typical media
- Water-based coatings
- Printing inks
- Resin blends
- Pigment dispersions
Process duties
- Feed mixing and holding vessels
- Transfer finished batches to filling stations
- Circulate process material where required
What to check
Review abrasion from pigments, solvent compatibility and the viscosity at operating temperature. Where pulsation affects the downstream process, assess the complete delivery system, including a suitable dampener. Specify the flushing solvent and changeover procedure to help evaluate cleanability and trapped volume.
Share the coating type, viscosity, solids content and cleaning method.
